The Sinai War (also known in Israel as "Operation Kadesh", in Arabic known as the "Triple Aggression" - العُدْوَان الثُلَاثِيّ, in French: Guerre du Sinaï) was a short war between Israel, Britain and France on the one hand and Egypt on the other, between October 29 and November 5. 1956 (24 Cheshvan to A. Kislev 5717). During the war, the IDF invaded and occupied the Sinai Peninsula, except for a narrow strip along the Suez Canal, destroyed many military infrastructure, and hit the Egyptian army. Simultaneously with the Israeli campaign, Britain and France jointly conducted an operation to take control of the Suez Canal, known as "Operation Musketeer."
