VASILY SOKOLOVSKY MARSHAL OF THE SOVIET UNION
(1897 - 1968) Soviet general and Marshal of the Soviet Union, led Red Army forces on the Eastern Front during World War II. As Georgy Zhukov's chief of staff, Sokolovsky helped plan and execute the capture of Berlin. Document signed 1947, 4 pages, 11.75 x 8.25 in., a military attestation of General Major Roman Plyakin, Head of the Sanitary Commission of the Soviet Occupational Forces in Germany. Sokolovsky signs as commander-in-chief of the Group of Soviet Forces in Germany and head of the Soviet Military Administration in Germany. Uncut, file holes from binding, very good.
