MASSENET JULES: (1842-1912) French Composer. A.M.Q.S., Massenet, to the verso of a picture postcard of the composer in a profile head and shoulders pose, Vienna, 24th March 1902. In bold dark fountain pen ink Massenet has penned a bar of music which he identifies as being from the opera comique Manon. Signed and dated immediately beneath the quotation. One small, minor tape stain to the right edge, not affecting the quotation or signature. Together with Massenet's personal printed visiting card ('Monsieur Massenet'), unsigned, although with the names underlined in fountain pen ink, most likely by Massenet himself. About VG, 2
