LURCAT JEAN: (1892-1966) French Artist. A.L.S., `jean Lurçat´, one page, 4to, Paris, [9th January 1926], in French. The French artist refers to a proposal of his correspondent, stating in part `I proposed to me one day of last year if I would honour you with all my Seurat. Discussing the matter with a friend, owning a small draft (of the grande Jatte???), made me remember your kindness..´ Lurçat further suggests a meeting. Few stains to edges, not affecting the text or signature. Very small tears to the edges and fold edge. G Georges Seurat (1859-1891) French Painter and Dessinateur. Best known for his chromoluminarismand pointillism techniques. His work A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte, 1884-86, a large-scale painting, is one of the icons of late 19th-century.
