Rare Victorian Sterling Silver Centerpiece, Stephen Smith & William Nicholson, London, England, 1861.
Realistically modeled with a man holding a sickle in his left hand and wheat sheaf under his right arm, a hound dog in a sitting pose.
Centered with a candlestick on a scrolled stem with a flower shaped nozzle and a detachable socket.
Profusely decorated base raised on four scroll and acanthus feet.
The base is engraved with a crest and a monogram (see pictures).
Fully hallmarked for London, England, dated 1861, Victorian duty mark, maker mark for Stephen Smith & William Nicholson (marked on the base, on the man figure and on the hound figure).
