Comprehensive work containing a tremendous amount of novella of the Chasam Sofer on many diverse subjects, as well as much biographical information about the Chasam Sofer. Compiled by his close student, R. Chizkiyahu Feivel Plaut, and includes with many of his own Torah thoughts.

R. Chizkiyahu Feivel Plaut (1818-1895) was one of the most eminent talmidim of both the Chasam Sofer and the Ksav Sofer, and for a period served as a maggid shiur in the great Yeshiva of Pressburg. In 1849 he was appointed as Rav in the town of Shavran. Although he was only 22 at time of the Chasam Sofer’s passing, he remained bound to his great Rebbe, publishing his monumental work Likutei Chaver Ben Chaim over a period of 15 years. Received with great acclaim, it remains a most fundamental work, containing a substantial amount of the Chasam Sofer’s Torah teachings.

Bound in 4 volumes. Volumes 1 and 2, 30 cm. Volumes 3 and 4, 25 cm. Original bindings.

Fair condition, dry paper, few pages loose. Volume eleven (Siget 1893) lacking title page.
