A large photograph of Menachem Begin with a dedication to photographer David Rubinger

A large and impressive photograph of Menachem Begin with a dedication to the photographer David Rubinger, 1970s.

At the bottom left, Begin wrote: "To David Rubinger in friendship M. Begin."

The recipient of the photograph, the renowned press photographer David Rubinger [1924-2017], a native of Austria, immigrated to Eretz Israel in 1939. One of the leading Israeli press photographers. Rubinger took about half a million pictures in his lifetime. Alex Liebek called him "the photographer of the state." Rubinger was the one who took the famous photograph of the paratroopers at the Western Wall in 1967. It is also known about some important photographs he took of Begin, in one of which Begin was seen helping his wife Aliza to lock the shoe while on the plane on their way to the United States, the famous photograph of Gedola Meir washing dishes in her home kitchen in Jerusalem, and many more.

Size: 29x24 cm. Very good condition.
