AN ANTIQUE RUSSIAN JADE-HILTED LETTER OPENER
A late 19th-century Russian letter opener with a silver blade and a jade hilt. The hilt is decorated with silver overlays in the form of an arrow, entwined with ribbons, and inlaid with a white gem. The top is made in the form of an artichoke, decorated with a green cabochon and many faceted ruby-colored gemstones. Hallmarks: 84 silver standard next to a woman's head in a kokoshnik, turned to the left, and other Russian hallmarks.Total weight including silver: 92 g.
