Ancient Greece > Paeonia > Patraos, circa. 335-315 BC: AR Tetradrachm (12.5g, 23 x 22.5mm), Astibos or Damastion mint; laureate head of Apollo facing right / warrior on horse rearing right, thrusting spear at enemy lying below who defends himself with raised shield & first letter of the legend visible below horse's hind-leg Π-A-T-ΡAOY (flan too small for the full strike as observed on many example of this issue). References: SNG ANS 1040, S-1520; medallic strike at 45 degree rotation; AU/UNC+, almost in mint state: well struck on thick & small flan (typical of this issue) with high relief details on both sides, excellent detail; some die crudeness; obverse a little off center (typical for this issue) but complete; much luster & good toning.
