Ancient Greece > Thessaly > Perrhaiboi, circa. 450-400 BCE: AR Trihemiobol (14mm, 1.05 g). Thessalian warrior, holding two spears, on horse trotting left / Π-Ǝ-(P retrograde)-A, Athena seated left on chair, holding helmet; all within incuse square. RARE early type with no altar on obverse. Reference: BCD Thessaly II 548.1 var. (position of letters); HGC 4, 144; ex CNG (ex BCD collection) as near VF though closer to F+; well centered obverse, flan flaw on obverse, minor double strike on reverse; medallic alignment, tilted 45 degrees.
