Israel: 'Gymnasia Herzliya' medal, ND (1969?); not maker-marked (Kretchmer?); size: 60mm; weight: 96.15g. Obverse: original and new structures of the Gymnasium (High School); legend: "The Hebrew Gymnasium 'Herzliya'". Reverse: stylized quotation from Mishlei/ Proverbs Ch. 22 verse 6: "Train up a child in the way he should go". Although the Gymnasium was originally founded in 1905, the cornerstone of its famous structure (shown on medal) was laid in 1909: probably dates from 1969 as a commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the original structure. In AU-UNC: surface oil/dirt from poor storage conditions.
