Letter by the Holy Rabbi Yochanan of Rachmistravka to Rabbi Menachem Porush with a request for a permit for leaving the country from the recruiting authorities for his son the Holy Tzaddik Rabbi Avraham Dov Twersky, to get married abroad and additional documents. Jerusalem, 1966.
The typewritten letter, which is written on the official stationery of the Holy Rabbi Yochanan and hand-signed by Rabbi Yochanan, was sent to the well-known activist Rabbi Menachem Porush, the chairman of Agudas Yisroel in Jerusalem and a member of the Knesset for dozens of years, after earlier attempts to receive an exit pass for his upcoming marriage had failed.
Rabbi Porush appealed several times in various lettes and their copies are enclosed with the Rabbi's letter in the item before us. The wedding took place on the 17th of Kislev 1966 in the USA.
