Extremely Rare! The Pure Handwritten Signature of Moron the Holy Rabbi the Imrei Emes of Gur, Standing beside the Bridegromm, One of His Closest Hassidim. Jerusalem, [1927]

Extremley rare! Marriage certificate of the Hassid R. Yosef Rosenboim, a close Hassid of Moron the Imrei Emes of Gur, who even stood beside the bridegroom and married him off in a most extraordinary and rare manner, with his holy handwritten signature, from the time of his historical visit to the Land of Israel. Jerusalem, 1927.

Before us is an only handwritten souvenir from Moron the Imrei Emes' visit to the land of Israel, and especially from a marriage he officiated of one of his closest Hassidim.

Historical background:

The Holy Rabbi the Imrei Emes of Gur encouraged and spurred his Hassidim to immigrate to the Holy Land, to sanctify and purify it by Hassidim and men of action and merit eternal ownership of its land. In 1926, he established the great 'Sefas Emes' Yeshiva and it became the first Hassidic Yeshiva in Jerusalem and a gem in the crown of the Holy City.

Enthusiastic Hassidim longing for the Holy Land decided to immigrate from Poland to the Holy Land to study at the great yeshiva. The Imrei Emes made five uplifting trips to the Holy Land, each one enrapturing masses in Poland, Hassidim and craftsmen, industrialists and manufacturers, who invested in the Holy Land and even immigrated to it despite the hardships and extreme poverty.

In 1927, during his second visit, he stood beside the bridegroom R. Yosef Rosenboim, one of the top students of the yeshiva, taking care of the wedding and even standing beside the bridegroom as a Sushbin and Mechusan, which is extremely rare.

Before us is the marriage certificate which was written at the city council of the Ashkenazi community - the future Badatz HaEdah HaCharedis, which contains the details of the bridegroom and bride [of the Haber family] and the witnesses: Rabbi Avraham Englander and Rabbi Mendel Lev.

[1] official sheet of paper of the city council. 34X22 cm. The pure handwritten signature of Moron the Imrei Emes of Gur [in two different pens]. The stamp of the Beis Din and the signature of the secretary of the Beis Din Rabbi Baruch Reuven Shlomo Halevi Jungreis. The third of Elul 1927. Some wear and filing holes. Very good condition.
