JOSEPH WHEELER
(1836-1906) Confederate and United States Army general who also served multiple terms in the House of Representatives for Alabama. Fine A.L.S. on official House Committee on Ways and Means letterhead, 1p. 4to., Washington D.C., Oct. 29, 1895, to a Mr. Brown, in full: 'I enclose a card as you request. Gen. Walthall's address is Grenada MS., but as he will leave for Washington very soon, a better address will be the United States Senate.' Tipped to a black sheet with file holes, scattered ink stains, and a few small adhesive stains on the verso.
