Matzah Baking Instructions by Maharitz Dushinsky. Chust, 1925
Extremely rare!

Instructions regarding the strict order, laws and customs of baking matzos by Hagaon Harav Yosef Tzvi Dushinsky, Av Beis Din of Chust.

Maharitz Dushinsky was exceedingly cautious regarding the prohibition of chametz on Pesach, as noted in his biography:
Every day, Rabbeinu went twice to the matzah bakery, choosing a different hour every day so they would never know when he was expected to appear, and every time, he found something upon which to comment and correct… His words had a deep effect, and [the matzah bakery] spared no expense to correct the omission and improve.
On Erev Pesach, when they assembled to bake matzos, they sang Hallel and songs of praise.
(Od Yosef Chai, p. 229)

Hagaon Harav Yosef Dushinsky zy”a (1867-1949), also renowned as Maharitz Dushinsky, was the Rav of Galant and Chust in Hungary from 1921-1933. He served as Rosh Yeshivah of one of the largest and most illustrious yeshivos in Hungary, cultivating talmidei chachamim and Rabbanim. In 1933, he journeyed to Eretz Yisrael where he was appointed Gaavad of the Eidah Hacharedis in Yerushalayim, succeeding Hagaon Harav Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld.

Chust, 1925. Printing press of Yitzchak Oislander. Single page measuring 34x21 cm with minor restorations. Rare. No copy in the National Library in Jerusalem.
