Responsa From the Maharshdam on Choshen Mishpat. Salonika 1595.

A Very Nice Copy.

Written by Rabbi Shmuel ben Moshe Di Medina.
Salonika 1595. Printed by Avraham Yosef Bat Sheva
320 Pages. Size: 29cm.
Computerized Jewish Book Otzar: Item no. 61093.
Good condition. Some of the middle pages are shorter than the others. Very few pages have small holes that barely detract from the book’s beauty.
The cover page and inner cover page include owners’ signatures.
Interesting annotation on page 171.
Rabbi Moshe Di Medina, the Maharshdam, was a Dayan in Salonika. Upon concluding his manuscript, Rabbi Moshe ordered the Bnei Bat Sheva printers from Italy to come and open a Printing House in Salonika. He was famed for his astuteness and Halachic rulings, which were a leading influence for future Halachic authorities.
Salonika printers in the 16th century, who published his book, described Rabbi Moshe as being way above both past and future Halachic authorities. He died in 1608. This is the third volume of the Responsa of the Maharshdam.
