Siftei Yeseinim. Author by Rabbi Shabta Bass. Printed in Amsterdam, by Printer Rabbi David Di Castro Theartas, in 1680. First edition of the Hebrew Bibliographical Books.
20 Pages. Size: 19cm. Signature of owner: Moshe Harosh, is affixed on the inner binding.

Great condition. Slightly stained. Empty pages in the middle. Original leather binding.
Between 18-19, page with Ashkenazi handwriting: “ MeHaGaon HaGadol Raban HaGola Kemehudar Yonatan zt”l.”
Rabbi Shabtai Bass’ date of birth and death is unknown. He was a Rabbi and a poet in Prague. He established a Printing House in Diharnfort, Germany. He is regarded as “The father of Jewish Bibliognosts. This work is the collection of names of books in the order of aleph bet, and names of authors as appears in the cover pages. His brother was the Mekubal, the holy Chassid Rabbi Yaakov Strimarsh. His father was Rabbi Yosef Ashkenazy hy”d, who died Al Kiddush Hashem. Rabbi Bass returned to his birthplace, Prague, towards the end of his life.
