Rav Mordechai Luria Privete Copy !

Outstanding condition. Parchment binding from same time period of the books's printing. Small gluing on cover page. Rare to discover a book from this period in such mint condition.

This copy is signed by the Tzaddik, Rav Mordechai Luria, one of the wise men of Tiberias in the 19th Century, and author of the books, 'Tzion BaMishpat', 'Milchemet Yaavetz' and 'Divrei Mordechai - Knesset Mordechai.' The cover page also includes the signature of Rebb Yochanan Hirsh ben HaRav Reb Moshe Shlank zt"l. He is counted among the students of the Tzaddik and Posek HaDor, The Chassam Sofer zy"a. Prof. Meir Benayahu z"l penned an introduction to this book. It was printed in the 300 copies edition published by Rav Nissim in 19... Benayahu describes this book as the first responsa printed at the initiative of the author and in his lifetime. He was one of the foremost and famous Halachic authorities in his generation. He also saw in the Meir Benayahu's book 'Approval and Permision from the Venetiaen Printhouse', page 77-70. This book was a point of contention among the wise men and Halachic authorities of that generation. Rabi Yosef Cairo and others ignore it and makesno mention of it, while the Rema quotes it extensively.

This copy also includes pages 165-7 and pages 298-9 which were proscribed accoding to the Sfer HaZikuk. These pages are extremely censored in this copy. Note 'Sefer HaZikuk' of Dominic the Jerusalemite (1555-1621) and his influence on Hebrew printing. Written by Gila Fribor (2003), , under the guidance of Prof. Shifra Brochson-Arbiv.
