Slavita Machzor. Printed by The Admor Rabbi Moshe Schapira, Av Bet Din Slavita.
Machzor for Rosh HaShana and Yom Kippur, according the customs of Poland, Pihem, Mehrin, Lithuania and Reisen. Two volumes. Printed by Rabbi Moshe Schapira zt”l.
Slavita 1826. 160 Pages. (Missing the second cover page.)
All the tools of the Tzaddik Rabbi Moshe Schapira and sons’ Slavita Printing Press, would be immersed in a Mikve (Ritual Pool) prior to their use for the holy task of printing holy books.
Excellent condition. Quality paper, wide margins. Splendid new binding. A few brown stains inside, and a few adhesions. It is most rare to discover Slavita Printed Machzorim in such fine condition, since Chassidim used the Machzorim heavily throughout the year. This was due to the exceptional fact that they were printed by the most pious Rabbi Moshe Schapira. He was the father of ‘Schapira Printers’ of later generations, in both Slavita and Zhitomir.
