The organization of 'Gemilut Chessed Shel Emmet' – Gachsha, was
always a very important organization in all Jewish communities. We find
a lot of customs in Germany, that the 'Gachsha' people used to observe. In
this work we find a fixed custom to fast on Monday of the week of
Parshat Shmot. On part of a page that was pasted at the end of the Sefer,
it lists additional customs that they observed on the this day: go to the
gravesites and request forgiveness, recite Kadish Yasom without Al
Israel, read 'Vayachel Moshe', give charity and send many gifts to the
poor.
Then they sat down for a Seudat Mitzva, drank wine and learned
Mishnayot. On the same day they would present the financial summaries
of the 'Chevra Kadisha's funds.

This copy of the book comes from the library of the collector Mehlman,
who wrote about it in his familiar pencil handwriting: 'Yakar Metziot'. It
also appears, that the part of the attached page, he preserved carefully and
