Commentaries and Corrections.

Slavita 1808. Printed by Dov Ber son of Israel and Dov Ber son of Pesach.
188, 26 pages. Size: 36cm.
Computerized Jewish Book Otzar: Item no. 52931.
Beautiful copy with wide margins, printed on blue paper. Very few of the pages have small stains. Antique binding.
According to the tradition of the Chassidim and scholars in Eastern Europe, the Shapira Family purportedly immersed all the printing tools in a Mikva due to the sanctity of the printing of holy books. People therefore chose to purchase books printed by the Rabbi and his sons from Slavita and Zhitomir, and were proud to possess them. Cover page includes signature and on page 18, first leaf, there is a full signature: "I bought you to serve my Creator who sustains and feeds the young Eliyahu Yehuda Chazan".

Rabbi Eliyahu Chazan, author of Sefer Zichron Yerushalayim, printed in Livorno in 1874, was one of the Sages of Jerusalem, Rabbi of Tripoli, Libya, and afterwards the 'Chacham Bashi' of Alexandria.
Many commentaries and corrections in Ashkenazi writing.
