A photograph of Michael Jordan with an important dedication to the weak North Carolina population

A large photograph of the legendary basketball player Michael Jordan in the greatest dunk of all time, with a special dedication in Jordan's handwriting and signature, to Novant Health Clinics and North Carolina residents. On the photo, Jordan wrote: "To Novant Health clinics and our brothers in north carolina, never give up, michel jordan".

In 2017, Jordan donated 7 million dollar to build two clinics in backward neighborhoods in Charlotte. This is one of the biggest contributions on the part of the basketball legend, who to this day has deep ties with North Carolina. (When Jordan was 7, his family moved to Wilmington, North Carolina. In 1981, Jordan won a scholarship to the University of North Carolina, where he began his basketball career). In doing so, Jordan helped fund the Novent Heath family clinic. Jordan was particularly influenced by a 2014 research of Harvard and Berkeley researchers that found that poor children in Charlotte had the worst chances of escaping poverty from other major U.S. cities. This report, which stunned many in the community, led to the establishment of the Charlotte - Mecklenburg Force. whose job was to find ways to solve the problem of economic mobility in the city. That same year Jordan spokeswoman Estee Portnoy announced: "Michael wanted to do something in person, apart from the work we did with the Hornets".According to her, the idea to establish the clinics came up during the discussions with Novent. Jordan himself has stated in a statement that he is proud to team up with Novant to "provide essential health services to the underprivileged areas of Charlotte and to thousands of North Carolina residents who have limited access to health care." Jordan added that he hopes the clinics "will help provide a better and healthier future for the children and families they serve." The spokeswoman of jordan said at the time that he had begun discussions with Novant - which had been the Hornets' official medical service provider for years, and that negotiations with them had lasted for 16 months. Novant responded at the time: "Michael is a great partner for us at Novant. This is not the first time he has demonstrated such a commitment to the community and our patients", said CEO Carl Armato. The clinics themselves opened about a year ago in 2019, and in the past year, Jordan has made another contribution to the opening of another clinic that deals with the treatment of Covid 19 victims.

The annual Slam Dunk Contest takes place during the NBA's All-Star Weekend events in 1987. Beginning of the competition in the 1976 ABA All-Star Game in Denver, established as a competitor to the NBA League. The winner of the first competition in 1976, was Julius Irving [known as Dr. Jay] who jumped to the basket from the penalty line and 'dunked' the ball. It was the first time in basketball history that the world has watched a Dunk from the penalty line that far 3.60 meters from the basket height 3.05 meter. For years no other player has been able to make a similar jump, only more than ten years later in the 1987 dive competition did legendary player Michael Jordan make a dunk from the penalty line that is considered impressive in the history of world basketball in general. For this dunk, Jordan won the perfect and maximum score of 50 points from the jury, thus defeating his opponent in the competition Dominic Wilkins (who is also seen in the photo sitting in the front row on the left). Although dozens of dunk competitions have been held over the years, to this day this jump of Jordan is considered the most amazing dunk in the history of world basketball.

Size: 46x31 cm. An art photograph that highlights Jordan in color against the background of the audience in black and white. Very good condition.
