Page 8 has the stamp fo the compiler, “Moshe ben Zion bar Aharon HaKohen Ungvar.” On the page before the cover is the signature of Rabbi Moshe Grodzinsky (1875-1929), was the mashgiach of Yeshivat Torat Haim in Warsaw. Moved to Israel and was murdered in the 1929 riots in Hevron. Born in Warsaw, his son was the Rabbi Yitzhak (Itza) Grodzinsky, head of the Torat Haim yeshiva in Warsaw. In his youth he studied with his father, after a while he moved to Yeshivat Lomzha, and then to Radin. During his studies in Radin he tended to learn with the Chafetz Haim at his home. In 1894 he married the daughter of Rav Meir Tikochinsky of Stavisk and the sister of Rav Avraham Yitzhak Tikochinsky. After his marriage he continued to study in Radin. Then he began to be involved in mercantile affairs. After a time he was appointed the mashgiach in the yeshiva Torat Haim in Warsaw, and he helped his father in the city. In 1923 he decided to leave his job and moved with his family to Israel. After the founding of the Hevron yeshiva (1924) he settled in Hevron next to the yeshiva. During that time he brother Rav Avraham Grodzinsky also settled there, who served as the mashgiach in the yeshiva. He was father to 4 sons and 3 daughters. His sons-in-law are: Avraham Adler (Nesher), who served as Ram at the Warsaw yeshiva, and then a rabbi in Jerusalem; Rav Yaakov Neiman, head of Or Yisrael yeshiva in Lida and Petah Tikva; and Yehuda Alinson, an Eastern official. Original binding is disconnected, generally very good condition.
