WWII US Army 83rd Infantry Div. Austria Named Uniform
WWII 83rd Infantry Division and US Forces Austria Ike jacket named to Reer. There were only two Soldiers bearing that last name in WWII. One was a paratrooper, and the other was Sgt. Herman W. Reer of New Jersey, the owner of this jacket. Sgt. Reer was wounded in action in February 1945 by fragments of an artillery shell, and was in the hospital until April 1945. The jacket has an 83rd patch on the right shoulder, and a theater made US Forces Austria patch on the left. Also has individual ribbon bars.
