A VERY RARE ICON SHOWING THE ARCHANGEL MICHAEL AND JOSHUA, SON OF NUN Russian, Palekh, 19th century Tempera on wood panel with double kovcheg. Executed with gold details. St. Michael is shown an angel with sword drawn, standing before a kneeling man in armor and helmet. Two selected saints on the borders: Andrey and Athanasios. Minor areas of retouching. 31 x 26.8 cm.
