Kabbalistic writings in the handwriting of Rabbi Zundel of Salant. Ideas that he heard from his rabbi, the great sage Rabbi Chaim of Volozhin
The Gaon Rabbi Chaim of Volozhin, father of the yeshiva world and the greatest of Gra’s students, on the importance of repentance and how to achieve it. Special and rare!
The Gaon Rabbi Yosef Zundel of Salant (1786-1865), the father and founder of the Mussar movement, was a student of Rabbi Chaim of Volozhin and the rabbi of Rabbi Yisrael Salanter. His son-in-law, Rabbi Shmuel Salanter, the chief rabbi of Jerusalem, extolled him as a “rabbi of exemplary character and vast knowledge, proficient in the hidden and revealed Torah alike, the greatest of his generation, whose amazing humility enabled him to conceal his greatness.” In his later years he made Aliya to Jerusalem and served as a teacher in the Ashkenazi community there.
