The Rebbe's Ruling about Reciting the Blessing "May you be Inscribed and Sealed for a Good Year" on 19 Kislev. 3 Tevet, 1957

Important letter from the Lubavitcher Rebbe with respect to "Yom HaGeulah" - 19 Kislev, 3 Tevet, 1957. Brooklyn, New York.

In this historic letter, the Rebbe determines that on 19 Kislev, each person should bless his fellow with a "L'Shanah Tovah" blessing, as is customary on Rosh HaShanah!!

The letter was sent in response to activists who consulted with the Rebbe about Chaba"d customs on 19 Kislev. The Rebbe writes as follows: "Our rabbis, our leaders have established the name 'Rosh HaShanah' for this day, to study Chassidut and Chassidic ways. On Rosh HaShanah, one says, "May you be inscribed and sealed for a good year." This day is like that one in these matters, and the Chassidic way is Divine service in joy and goodheartedness."

The Rebbe then blesses them with blessings necessary for all community activists: "May we hear good news about your activities, distribution of ma'ayanot (including until they arrive), in good health, tranquility, and Divine service in joy and goodheartedness, " and he signs by hand.

The parentheses around the words (including until they arrive) were added by the Rebbe in his hand.
