A letter sent by the Jerusalem Beit Din to the Haifa Beit Din, with a request to arrange a divorce document (Get) for a woman, after the first divorce document which was arranged for her in 1925 was not transferred to the woman for some reason, and in the meantime the emissary died. The letter before us is from 1934.
The letter is written entirely in the handwriting of Rabbi Eliyahu Re'em, with his signature and the signatures of Rabbi Shimshon Aharon Polansky and Rabbi Yosef Gershon Horowitz. With the Bedatz's stamp.
The matter's urgency is seen by the response of the Dayan in Haifa, Rabbi Yehoshua Kaniel, who added in his handwriting in the letter's margins "Arrange the divorce proceedings immediately…this is an urgent matter".

Rabbi Shimshon Aharon Polansky (1876-1948), known by the name "The Gaon of Teplyk". He was admired by all of the great Rabbis of his generation due to his knowledge and genius in Torah. It is well-known that Rabbi Zvi Pesach Frank would not rule about difficult questions without receiving his opinion, and Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak HaCohen Kook said about him that he is "the number one scholar of Jerusalem". He was known as a great expert in the laws of Niddah. Many of the Rabbis of Jerusalem and the great Poskim studied from him, among them: Rabbi David Jungreis, Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Auerbach, Rabbi Shmuel HaLevi Wosner, Rabbi Yisrael Yaakov Fischer, Rabbi Ovadiah Yosef and Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv.

Rabbi Eliyahu Re'em (1872-1959) served as a Dayan on the Beit Din HaGadol in "Churvat Rabbi Yehuda HaChassid" for 36 years. His colleague, Rabbi Zvi Pesach Frank, used to say that when Rabbi Eliyahu was in the Beit Din there was no need for books of Talmud and Shulchan Aruch, as he is fluent with them.

Rabbi Yosef Gershon Horowitz (1869-1951), a member of the Beit Din HaGadol of the Ashkenazi congregations, the Rabbi of the Meah Shearim neighborhood and the Rosh Yeshiva of the "Meah Shearim" yeshiva for 46 years.

Official paper of the Bedatz. 20x30 cm.
Stains.
