Siddur Tefillah based on the nusach Ari with ma’amarim from the Tanya. First section—printed by Shapira in Zhitomir 1863.

For weekdays, with Chassidic articles from the Admor Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liady, the Baal HaTanya, “incorporating and based on the kavanot of the Ari”. Part of the title page is in red ink. In Psukei D’Zimrah the names of Hashem have niqqud based on kabbalah. Printed by the grandsons of the Slavita Rav, Rabbi Chanina Lifa and Rabbi Yehoshua Heschel Shapira. [4], 308 pages. A few tears with missing text, tape, stains from use, pretty margins. Fair to good condition. Original binding with a reinforced spine.

The siddur of the Tanya is also called the “Siddur Im D’Ach [Divrei Elokim Chayyim—a nickname for the articles of chassidus from Chabad Admorim]” and is the first work of the Admor HaZaken’s words printed by his son, the Mittler Admor, after his father passed away, in 1816, in Kapost. The work has the nusach of prayer organized according to Rabbeinu HaZaken (the siddur, halachot, and two articles of chassidus written and edited by the Admor and printed during his life a number of times), as well as piskei halachot that often appear in the Shulchan Aruch HaRav, along with ma’amarim of exegesis on the wordings of prayer and issues related to mitzvot and moadim referenced in the siddur. Most editions put the nusach tefillah in the middle of the page with the ma’amarim surrounding.

This copy is from the fifth edition, published in 1863 by the son and grandsons of the Tzemach Tzedek and with his instructions. Most of the editions following this one followed this template (this edition includes ma’amarei d’ach that were added for the first time to the Berdichev 1818 edition and were not in the first edition).
