A Beautiful Victorian Period framed oil on canvas painting by Charles Leader, English circa 1880-1890. 17 1/2" x 12" approx.
Condition: This painting is in good original condition, small flaking over the signature
Leader was a prolific artist with as many as 23 of his paintings being recorded. Comparatively little is known of the man's private life. However his artistic work is renowned for Highland Glen or River Scenes. In this painting, he captures the exuberant beauty in a very characteristic way. Two of Leader's works are currently on permanent exhibition at the South Shields Museum and Art Gallery.
