Auction 2 ART FOR HEART
Jun 17, 2021
Moscow, Tverskaya 3 street, -2 floor Hotel The Ritz-Carlton, Moscow, Russia

In 2017, Melisa Erdem, a student from The International School of Moscow, was diagnosed with congestive heart failure and fought for her life in the intensive care unit. Fortunately, Melisa survived and soon was discharged from the hospital. Living with this horrific condition meant that Melisa would be tied to hospitals for the rest of her life. There was only one permanent solution – a heart transplant.

Although doctors, concerned with Melisa's state of health, first recommended delaying the operation to avoid possible complications, Melisa has recently got an infection, meaning her heart transplant surgery needs to take place as soon as possible.

Born out of hope and a genuine belief in people's kindness, 'Art to Heart' is an artistic cry for help and a glorious tribute to altruism. It's less of an ordinary exhibition or an auction and more of an immersive experience that invites you on a journey of empathy and creativity to the depths of Melisa's heart.

The auction will consist of two parts: Fine Art and Contemporary. You can participate in the auction both online at bidspirit.com and in person at Cube.Moscow at The Ritz-Carlton, Moscow.

Consumption has taken over me.⠀
It no longer means just purchasing things in colorful packages. Consuming has become the foundation of my life.
I spend my time observing people carefully and trying to imitate them. Consuming provides me with an opportunity to strengthen my social status, it helps me to woo my friends and colleagues. But this lifestyle has resulted in some kind of emptiness inside for me.
This lifestyle has also resulted in a lot of trash in my life. This trash no longer seems like just an object to me - it is also information, and human relationships.
Once I realized my whole life was unbearably littered with garbage, I tried to at least get things sorted in my own home. This process of sorting it all took a lot of concentration, and vast amounts of time. I live in a small city on the Black sea. In this city, there is no way to sort waste. Moreover, there is no recycling either.
Once I realized the futility of my attempt to change things, I gave up. Apparently, I was doomed to live among trash. The worst part was that you really can't even get rid of it. Trash can be buried, where it will poison the earth and water, it can be burned, poisoning the air. The best case scenario is that new objects, new garbage, can be made from it.
Trash - a silent witness of my struggle for people's attention, time and comfort.
Trash - a silent witness of my constant helplessness.
