1935 SOVIET CONSTRUCTIVIST 'UDARNIK' AWARD
Rare Soviet award presented to a Soviet worker named D. V. Solov'ov. The award recognizes this worker as 'Udarnik' of the third year of the second five-year plan (1935). 'Udarnik', or 'Shock Worker' as Stalin translated it, is a Soviet word for an overproductive worker. The udarnik movement was launched and supported by the government to intensify the industrial development of the country. The cover of the four-page award document features a constructivist design by S.F. Sokolov, bold colors and clean lines, showing a red flag with the slogan 'Forward to New Victories', smokestacks, and a grain silo in the background, 4 pages, 4.5 x 6 inches.
