A monumental study of aggada in the Talmud and medrash, in addition to biographies of noted commentators from earlier times.
2 letters in Hebrew, written and signed by the author – 1835 and 1838. The letters relate to his research on rabbinic literature.
Yom Tov (Leopold) Zunz (1794-1886) was a German scholar and Judaic researcher. He was a patriarch of the "Chachmas Yisrael" movement that critically studied Jewish culture and traditions.
Original, used binding. Minimal aging stains. Book and letters in very fine condition.
