BERNHARDT SARAH: (1844-1923) French stage Actress. The most prominent actress of her time. A fine ANL.S., `Sarah´, two pages, to both sides of an attractive oblong 5.5 x 3.5 card, n.p., n.d., to a friend, in French. The document bears to the heading her attractive embossed monogram with her initials and the motto ''Quand Meme''. Bernhardt, in her usual difficult writing states `I am a little indisposed. Be kind enough to postpone our dinner to Tuesday or Wednesday or Thursday. I kiss you and bless you wholeheartedly´ Together with a 2 x 2.5 printed visiting card bearing the printed text ''Sarah Bernhardt - Odéon'' Very small overall staining to the visiting-card and remnants of former affixing to the verso edges of the card and visiting-card, not affecting the text or signature.
