Historical and important! In continuance of the previous item! The plan of the holy Maran the Admor of Satmar to immigrate to the Holy Land, several weeks before the outbreak of the terrible World War II in Europe, and an important Psak Halacha on the subject of potatoes and their blessing, handwritten by his senior disciple the Chassid Rabbi Leib Pashkes of Sakmar. 1939.

A letter written to the rabbinic Chassid Rabbi Zvi Pinchas Hacohen Moskowitz of Jerusalem, a dignitary and leader of Kollel Munkatch, founder of the Ohel Rachel synagogue of Satmar and confidante of the holy Rav of Schotz and a relative of the holy Gaon of Bilgoray.

In the letter, which was written during the final days before the outbreak of the terrible war, Parashas Shoftim 1939, the Chassid, who merited studying Chevruta with Maran of Satmar, continues to describe the great desire of Maran of Satmar to immigrate to the Holy Land.

He recalls that Rabbienu Yoel of Satmar is still in the spa town and upon his return will inform about his future plans. Although he most probably will not travel before the upcoming Yamim Nora'im, later he will surely overcome the obstacles and travel to the Holy Land - the trip, of course, due to the troublous times, did not then come to pass and only six years later did Rabbeinu immigrate to Eretz Yisroel, having suffered the atrocities of the extermination camps.

The second part of the letter is also historical and just as important. In it, the Chassid who was a Talmid Chacham, Rabbi Leibl Pashkes, describes the opinion of the holy Rav of Satar on the blessing of potatoes that were not mashed. According to the Rav of Satmar, their blessing is Shehakol Nihiyah Bidvaro, as was the custom of his grandfather the holy Rav author of Yismach Moshe in the name of the holy Rav of Ropshitz.

The letter also contains other matters such as where Hakafot per the version of Siget can be found, shipment of the holy Sefer Sefas Emes to the holy Rav of Sassov [Semiheli], the Rav of Satmar's son-in-law and a request for charity for a future bridegroom Yeshua Freund of Yahlipolva.

Enclosed is additional important historical material on the plans of Maran the holy Admor Mahari Tov to immigrate to the Holy Land before the war.
