Gibor Israel is a 900 kg bronze sculpture with a concrete base weighing 7.1 tons, created by the sculptor Itai Zlait in 2020. The police, and in his hand he waves the Israeli flag. The purpose of the statue, according to Zlait, was to honor the demonstrator "who fights for democracy"

In July 2020, an AP photographer, Oded Balilty, recorded the protests against Netanyahu in Jerusalem with his camera. During the dispersal of the demonstration by the police through an olive grove, Balilty photographed one of the demonstrators, Nimrod Gross, holding the Israeli flag in front of the stream of water coming from the olive grove. The photo gained much publicity on social media and in the Israeli media, and became one of the symbols of protest. The sculpture was created inspired by this event, with the character featured in the sculpture being generic.

The decision to create the statue was made by Zlait the morning after the installation of his work "The Last Supper" in Rabin Square, on July 28, 2020, which was also created as part of a protest against Benjamin Netanyahu.
