Four Receipts – Signatures of Rabbi Isser Zalman Meltzer, Rabbi Aryeh Levin, Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Auerbach, and Rabbi Yisrael Yaakov Fischer
Four official receipts of the Etz Chaim Talmud Torah and Yeshiva, signed by the rabbis who served as principals of the institution:

1. 15 Elul 1943: “Deliver to Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Auerbach’. The signatures of Rabbi Zalman Zeleznick and of the receiver Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Auerbach appear on the receipt.

2. Dated Iyar 1944: ‘Deliver to the Otzar HaHesed Free Loan Society (Keren Shmuel)…”. The receipt bears the signatures of Rabbi Isser Zalman Meltzer and Rabbi Zeleznick, and the signature of the receiver Rabbi Yosef Zundel Levinson, on behalf of Otzar HaHesed. The Otzar HaHesed stamp appears on the receipt. Levinson added and wrote: “This receipt was provided along with the return receipts and deeds according to the abovementioned." Attached are three notes with writing that appears to be his.

3. 15 Elul 1948: “Deliver to Rabbi Yisroel Yaakov Fischer”. The signature of Rabbi Zeleznick and the signature of the receiver Rabbi Yisroel Yaakov Fischer appear on the receipt.

4. 15 Tevet (Jan. 4) 1950: “Deliver to Rabbi Shmuel Aharon Yudelevitz 10 Israeli Lira”. The signature of the receiver: his father-in-law, Rabbi Aryeh Levin.

Rabbi Isser Zalman Meltzer (1870-1954), Rabbi of Slutsk and the Rosh Yeshiva there. He later became the Rosh Yeshiva of ‘Etz Chaim’ in Jerusalem and the Chairman of Council of Torah Sages.

Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Zelznick (1887-1975) served for many years as the Rosh Yeshiva of ‘Etz Chaim’.

Rabbi Aryeh Levin (1885-1969), a famous Tzaddik and man of kindnesses, the “Father of the Prisoners”. He was also the spiritual supervisor in the ‘Etz Chaim’ Talmud Torah. His son-in-law, Rabbi Shmuel Aharon Yudelevitz, a leading Torah giant in Jerusalem, served as the Rabbi of the Jewish Community in Lifta in Jerusalem.

Rabbi Yisroel Yaakov Fischer (1925-2003), one of the leading students in ‘Etz Chaim’. He was the head of the Eda Haredit religious court and the Rabbi of the Zichron Moshe neighborhood in Jerusalem.

Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Auerbach (1910-1995), one of the leading students in ‘Etz Chaim’, was well-known as one of the leading and prominent Halachic rulers of the last generation. He served as the Rosh Yeshiva of ‘Kol Torah’.
