Yair Garbuz (1945) is an Israeli modern writer and artist who was born in Givatayim in 1945. During the 1960s he studied painting at the Avni Institute of Art and Design in Tel Aviv, with the artists Rafi Lavie, Moshe Props and Yechiel Kriza. Beginning in 1973, Garbuz taught in the art department at the "Midrasha" school in Beit Berl. Between the years 1997-1997 he was the head of the "Midrasha" school in Beit Berl. The source of inspiration for Garbuz's works is American pop painting. This can be seen by the technique involved in his works, the load of details, the collage technique, the use of photography, mixing styles and connection to texts.Garboz is also known as a publicist and political activist and became entangled in his language during the Knesset elections in 2015. Despite the controversy, he is still one of the most popular and respected artists in Israel. In 2010, Garbuz's work was sold at auction at Tiroche for $ 20,700, a record price per artist.
