Machzor for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur—Ladino, Salonika 1924-1925. Very good condition.
Volume containing two sections of the machzor for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, “following the minhag of the Italian communities, the nusach used by our forefathers in Rome and Italy…continued in Salonika…until today we retain the traditions of our forefathers to pray using this ancient nusach.” Machzors following the Italian custom integrated with the minhag Sfard.
Printed in Salonika: Part 1 for Rosh Hashanah printed in 1924. Part 2 for Yom Kippur in 1925. Additional title pages before Shacharit of Rosh Hashanah and Shacharit of Yom Kippur. The first title pages for each (RH & YK) is in Ladino. The first title page of Rosh Hashanah: “Salonika, printed by Acuaroni and Becher”. “Edited… by Baruch ben Yaakov, Chananel Chaim Chassid”. A few of the prayers and piyyutim have Ladino translation as well.
Antique binding, leather spine (worn), light stains, overall very good condition.
