A SOVIET PROPAGANDA SATIRICAL POSTER BY TRUNEV
A rare illustration painting maquette of the Russian Soviet satirical poster Talents and Admirers, designed by Yuri Trunev (1921-1986), Soviet graphic artist, member of the Fighting Pencil - a creative association of Leningrad artists who produced propaganda posters in the USSR. The Russian title text read as follows: Talents and Admirers. The poster depicts an old man and woman brewing moonshine to earn extra money, as indicated by a large purse on the woman's shoulder and two drunken consumers of their alcoholic beverages. Poster maquette by Yuri Trunev for The Fighting Pencil Group, 1964, with original Russian pencil marks on the backside.
