Sefer Ohev Yisroel - R. Avraham Yehoshua Heschel of Apta, Zhitomir 1863. First Edition.

A complete copy of the fundamental Chassidic work Ohev Yisroel, authored by R. Avraham Yehoshua Heschel of Apt. Besides for being the first edition of this work, this edition was likewise printed at the legendary printing press of the Shapiro Brothers in Zhitomir in 1863. As such, it carries a unique quality and Holiness, which is unmatched by virtually any other Sefer Chassidus.

R. Avraham Yehoshua Heschel of Apt (1748-1825), commonly known as "the Apter Rav", a foremost disciple of R. Elimelech of Lizhensk and revered Chassidic leader. This work was brought to print by his grandson R. Meshulam Zussia of Zinkov. In his introduction, he explains that his grandfather would often say that in the heavenly court he would be able to take pride in his unbelievable love for his fellow Jews. It is for this reason why his grandson chose the name "Ohev Yisroel", although his grandfather never instructed him to do so.

In overall very good condition, light stains. Page corners lightly worn, as in most copies. Previous owners' marks seen on some pages.

[1], 117 pp.
