Manuscript. Kuntress of drashot by Rabbi Moshe Freudiger of Budapest, author of Vayidaber Moshe. [1854-1858]

Drashot and elucidations on Tanach by Rabbi Moshe Freudiger of Budapest, Torah scholar and community leader for about 25 years.

Rabbi Moshe Freudiger (1817-1897) was the son of Rabbi Pinchas Leib Freudiger, rav”d Alt-Ofen. Torah and wealth met at his table and he was very wealthy. He was one of the first ultra-orthodox Jews to receive a title of nobility from the royal court and was a loyal public servant. He headed the orthodox community for twenty five years and sermonized in the local synagogue. After his death, his sons published his great work Moshe Yidaber (Budapest 1927-1929) with approbations from the Torah leaders of his time who extol this personality. The book opens with his biography.

Budapest [1854-1858].
8 kuntressim and some additional solitary leaves, altogether about 150 pages, most in Yiddish and a few in Hebrew and other languages.
His signature appears a few times on the title pages of the kuntressim and more.
Varying sizes and conditions, the large majority is in fine condition. The content has not been checked to see if it was printed in his aforementioned work.
