Minchat Kohen on the general rules of Shas. First, rare edition. Jerusalem 1911. With dedication from the author to Rabbi Leib Dayan.

Sefer Minchat Kohen, second section, on the klalim and sugiyot of Shas, organized alphabetically, by the gaon Rabbi Yosef Chaim HaKohen, son of Rabbi Yehuda. First edition, during the author’s lifetime. Ma’arechet 2-400. [4], 44-132 leaves. Catalogued as rare by the National Library. Title page has gilded letters. At the beginning are subscriber names.

Many warm approbations from geonim: the Yisa Bracha, the Aderet, the Sdei Chemed of Chevron, Rabbi Chaim Berlin, Rabbi Yitzhak Yerucham Diskin, the Sefardi beit din of Jerusalem, the Ashkenazi-Prushim beit din, the Ashkenazi-Chassidic beit din, Rabbi Yosef Chaim Zonenfeld, Rabbi Shaul Chaim Horwitz. Some mention the blessing that the book represents to those who bring it into their homes.

Detached binding, no spine, titlep age and other leaves are detached, otherwise overall good condition for the content of the work.

The back of the binding has a printed sticker in gilded letters, containing a dedication from the author with the addition of the recipient’s name handwritten by the author (Rashi script): “HaRahag Mohar Aryeh Leib Dayan shlita.” - Rabbi Aryeh Leib Herschler (1850-1917) was a known dayan in the Old Yishuv of Jerusalem at the beginning of the 20th century. Served for 25 years as a dayan in the court of Rabbi Shmuel Salant. Led a group of founders of the Beit Yisrael neighborhood in Jerusalem (there is a street there named after him) and served as rabbi and head of the residential association, and then was a founder of Sha’arei Pina and Givat Sha’ul. Was a member of the State Court, and a representative of the Ashkenazi Jewish community at the Municipality in Jerusalem under the Ottomans.
