ANTIQUE 1919 USS ALTAIR DESTROYER BRASS PLAQUE
A very heavy original 1919 brass wall plaque depicting the ship USS Altair. The USS Altair (AD-11) was the lead ship of a class of three destroyer tenders. She was named for Altair, the brightest star in the constellation Aquila. Laid down 18 Dec. 1918, launched 10 May 1919, commissioned 8 July 1946. The plaque has missing the original frame.
