MARINETTI FILIPPO TOMMASO: (1876-1944) Italian Poet. Founder of the Futurist movement. Marinetti is best known as the author of the first Futurist Manifesto which was written and published in 1909. A.L.S., `F.T. Marinetti´, three pages, 8vo, n.p. [Milano], n.d., on his literary magazine “Poesia” printed stationery, in French. Marinetti starts referring to his correspondent´s novel, stating `Mon tres cher ami, je suis en train de lire votre tres bon roman…´ (“My very dear friend, I am reading your very good novel..”) Further and to a post-scriptum Marinetti says `N´oubliez pas je vous prie l´enquete de Poesia, “Veuillez nous dire, en vers ou en prose, ce que vous pensez de la beauté inspiratrice de la femme Italienne”´, (“Please do not forget the inquiry about Poesia, “Tell us, with verses or prose, what you think about the inspiring beauty of the Italian woman””) Few edges very slightly trimmed, otherwise G to VG
