MASTERS EDGAR LEE: (1868-1950) American poet, biographer, dramatist & attorney. T.L.S., Edgar Lee Masters, one page, oblong 8vo, New York, 11th April 1925, to John S. Mayfield. Masters states that he has been pleased to write out a poem on Anne Rutledge for his correspondent and continues to remark 'A few weeks later you may find in The Nation an article by me in which I sing the praises of Texas, which I think is destined to be one of the mighty things of America, as indeed many other places and cities will be in their own way, to judge by the life and the endeavour that one sees in traveling over the country'.
