Elegies composed by the elders of the sages of Yemen about the spiritual deterioration of the Yemenite community upon arrival in Israel.  Published by Um Ani Choma. Jerusalem, 1951. Lithographic printing.

These elegies are based on the meter of the Tisha B'Av elegies, which contrasts the lofty pre-exile level with the subsequent downfall,  as the period in Yemen is the golden age in contrast with present times in the holy land, described as "exile." "Why was it that in Yemen we went on a good path, the young, old and elderly kept the Torah and mitzvot, now in our holy land our purpose has failed us, we have left the path of integrity and all good characteristics... Why was it that in Yemen we quickly went to three daily prayers with happy hearts, with fixed times for Torah study, evening and morning, now in the land (of Israel) the word of G-d is scorned G-d forbid no Torah no prayer no listening ear." And another elegy: "Fire will burn on my heart with my soul in Yemen, astonished and desolate with my coming to Zion... To the great and awesome G-d, I pray every day with my being in Yemen and for their labor they are diligent and not for G-d do hands work with my coming to Zion... Day and night fixed times for Torah when I was in Yemen, only the dogma of the body is on me everything floats with my coming to Zion... The crown of her husband is inside faces were not seen when I was in Yemen, men and women walk together and are not embarrassed with my coming to Zion". and more.
