A Long Responsum in the Handwriting and with the Signature of Rabbi Shimon Pollak, Author of the "Shem MiShimon"

A long halachic responsum written by Rabbi Shimon Pollak author of the "Shem Mishimon", regarding a match made without the writing of Tenaim beforehand, whether Tenaim must be written before the wedding, and other discussions on the topic of matchmaking. The letter is dated: Parshat Lech Lecha, 1923. 

He discusses the matter at great length over three large leaves written on both sides from the Talmud and the Poskim and the great Achronim, and adds discussions on other topics such the source of the words shidduchin and shidduch, whether there is a difference between one who marries without shidduchin if she is a widow or a virgin, the ruling of the Shulchan Aruch in Siman 725 regarding mishloach manot to a woman - not to send to a widow as it creates a doubt that he married her, the topic of one who rules halacha before his Rabbi, Kabbalistic explanations for the blessing 'Who did not make me a woman' even though his gender did not change overnight. Rabbi Shimon Pollak [1858-1930], the beloved disciple of the Maharam Shik and the author of the "Avnei Nezer". Studied for a certain period from Rabbi Yoel Zvi Roth Av Beit Din of Chust, served as Av Beit Din of Gyömöre for 18 years and then in Belenyes for 28 years.
