A HERODIAN TERRACOTTA OIL LAMP ORIGINALY WITH 17 NOZZLES (3 MISSING)
1st century CE. Decorated with a tendril of pomegranates. Mended and slightly repaired but in good condition and extremely rare (only two additional examples recorded). 30 cm in diameter. Ex private collection, Jerusalem. For a similar oil lamp from the same workshop, found in the Herodian Palace in Jericho (today displayed in the Israel Museum in Jerusalem), see: Biblical Archaeology Review, November\December 1996, page 41.
