Maurits De Groot - Jewish artist born in Amsterdam, studied at the Amsterdam Academy of Arts, painted portraits, in 1912 he became one of the founders of "De Onafhankelijken" (The Independents) - a group of young painters.
Died in 1934 in Blaricum.
